STCW Certificate refreshers and renewals
Hands-on skills revalidation and maintenance courses include:
- Teaching material.
- Mandatory insurance.
- Advice for the processing of the degree.

|Reduced: You must accredit at least 3 months of experience on board merchant ships or fishing over 24m, in the last 5 years.|
Escola Port teaches the revalidation or refreshing of the certificates of professional proficiency of the STCW agreement according to the current resolutions of the Spanish DGMM and other international organizations such as the MCA.
Basic Safety Training, Survival Craft and Rescue Boat other than Fast Rescue Boats and Advanced Fire Fighting can be revalidated by taking the entire course or reduced of it.
Short courses are aimed at sea professionals who can prove their experience of at least 3 months in the last 5 years aboard ships merchant or fishing larger than 24m.
The full course to validate these three certificates must be completed by the person who can not certify experience on board.
The certificates GMDSS Restricted Operator, Crowd Management on Passenger Ships, GMDSS General Operator and Port Skipper have to be revalidated through training and reduced practices with their respective competency updating courses.
Certificates of Maritime Security Awareness and Deck Skipper do not expire.
